The future of Bumble Bee, honeybees, and solitary
bees is both precarious and uncertain.
The balance of the natural world is brought into
question,
for our future sustainable health and survival.
The Bumble Bee is threatened by climate change,
pesticides and marauding alien bees…
To imagine the departure of the Bees, think of a world
without flowersand fruit, and that buzzing sound in the
garden on a summers afternoon.
The image of the plastic bee is here to remind you of the consequences of the departure of the bee.
Of when we go to our local garden centre to purchase
bags of pollen and brushes, to ensure that the flowers
put on a good show…Children could be put to good
use to scale fruit trees with little bags of pollen,
and inevitable brushes.
The task would be backbreaking for adults, but they
are always the best to oversee projects…
Those with an inevitable touch of nostalgia, will display
a bee set in clear Perspexin the home.
They did have bee sympathies…
Polishes up nice and could bee worth a bit ‘in the future.’
The bee is a friend in both Art and Literature, down
through time.
The bee has travelled through time with us.
theirs is the recipe for ‘manna from Heaven.’
It is time to safe guard our well proven friends.
